Privacy Statement

Fone Sentinel is a service provided by The Fone Group Pty Ltd and has been designed to assist employers in running there business by providing information on where their employees are. The Fone Group highly values the privacy of all users of Fone Sentinel. Fone Sentinel is not designed to track employees without their knowledge nor consent.

Important Information

Fone Sentinel returns points to our database and your plan may require the download of ads to your phone. This requires the use of the internet on your phone and you are responsible for the cost of that internet access. The use of maps and updates, also downloads data to your phone. You are responsible for the costs of these downloads.

Fone Sentinel shows the location of your phone to those that have access to your account. It is your responsibility.

In order to use Fone Sentinel, you must consent to the use of your phone's location being provided to Fone Sentinel and the disclosure of that information to account holders, as well as accepting the data charges for returning points and downloading maps, updates and ads.

What we collect

We collect the data that you provide when signing up to Fone Sentinel, along with the points that your phones returns when you are using the application. We collect the IP address from which our services are accessed.

Users are able to access their data through the account management tab and through the finder, which shows all the points that have been collected.

Locational information is collected so that it can be viewed by the account holder and to assist in the better provisioning of advertising to customers that are on plans that have advertising included.

We also collect data if your refer other users to us. That is so we can credit your account where applicable as a rebate for referring customers to us.

What we use the information for

We use the information to provide account holders with locational information. Locational information is not disclosed unless the account holder has consented to the public display of their locational information.

We also provide targeted advertising based on demographics and that locational information for accounts have advertising as a feature. We do not provide any raw data to advertisers.

We do not provide raw data unless the use or disclosure is required or authorised by or under law; or if The Fone Group reasonably believes that the use or disclosure is reasonably necessary for one or more of the following by or on behalf of an enforcement body: the prevention, detection, investigation, prosecution or punishment of criminal offences, breaches of a law imposing a penalty or sanction or breaches of a prescribed law; the enforcement of laws relating to the confiscation of the proceeds of crime; the protection of the public revenue; the prevention, detection, investigation or remedying of seriously improper conduct or prescribed conduct; the preparation for, or conduct of, proceedings before any court or tribunal, or implementation of the orders of a court or tribunal.

The Fone Group also reserves the right to disclose personally identifiable, registration, profile, or location information that The Fone Group believes that in good faith is appropriate or necessary to to: enforce our Terms of Use; take precautions against liability; protect Users from fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful uses; investigate or defend ourselves against any third-party claims or allegations; assists government enforcement agencies; protect the security or integrity of The Fone Group services; or to protect the rights, property or personal safety of The Fone Group customers or others.

The Fone Group uses your email address or mobile number from time to time for non marketing or administrative purposes such as sending privacy or security related notices, notifying you of major Fone Sentinel issues or upgrades and for other customer services purposes.

Disclosure of Information

For phones on a plan that supports advertising, no individual data is made available to advertisers. This information is only available in aggregate form from which no individual can be identified.

Security

The Fone Group uses commercially reasonable methods to secure our data and protect it from unintended disclosure. We cannot ensure or warrant the security of anyu information that we receive from you. If we learn of a breach of security we will endeavour to communicate with you electronically. While this Privacy Statement expresses The Fone Group's standards for privacy, The Fone Group is not in a position to guarantee that the standards will always be met. Some factors beyond our control may result in disclosure of data. As a consequence, The Fone Group disclaims any warranties or representations relating to maintenance or nondisclosure of private information.

Updates to this Privacy Policy

From time to time we will revise this policy without further notice to you and this will be reflected in the date given below as when it was last modified. Please check back with our Privacy Policy to see if it has been updated. You continued use of Fone Sentinel constitutes your agreement with this Privacy Policy.
